A Look At Bark Off Product

Published by Puppy Care Blogger at 6:27 am under 14

Everybody is talking about this new product that has become available recently called Bark Off. It is supposed to be able to stop your dog from barking all the time when you don’t want them to bark, yet still allow them to bark when guarding the house.

If this thing is supposed to work so well, how does it work? Why does it work, if it really does work as well as they say? What is the downside of using it? What are the drawbacks to it? Answers to these questions are nearly impossible to find online. So perhaps it is time to put some information out there which will shed some light on the training aspect of it at least.

Dogs are typically creatures of habit. They learn the routines of the household as they grow up in the family. It becomes the routine to bark at everything they hear or see, and so that’s what they do. For instance, if they know they are to be fed at a certain time, they will go and sit by their bowl at that time, waiting. If they know that they are to go for a walk right afterwards, they will finish eating and then go to the door. So how can you break the habit that they have formed which is about to get you kicked out of your apartment or drive you into the loony bin?

You distract them. The reason they continue these behaviors is because they don’t have a reason not to.

This is why the Bark Off system would work efficiently. By having the device running during the times when you know your dog is prone to unwanted barking, you can nip the behavior in the bud. If you turn the device on during the times when barking is unacceptable, you’ll have the best results. Soon, not barking becomes the pattern behavior instead of barking. The only thing you may want to be careful with is continuing to use it after they have stopped the nuisance barking pattern, as it is likely they will become desensitized to the distraction.
